Firm will make three individuals’ wishes a reality; donate $10 for each wish to Make-A-Wish charity

Ridgeland, Miss., (December 5, 2016) – C Spire is helping bring the magic and wonder of the holiday season to life for consumers with a special contest that offers them a chance to make their biggest Christmas wishes come true.

The “Customer Inspired Christmas Wish Initiative” contest starts today (Monday, Dec. 5) at 8 a.m. and runs through Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. Individuals can visit one of C Spire’s retail stores in Mississippi, Tennessee or Alabama to pick up a wish ornament and follow instructions on the back to submit a written entry.

Each wish ornament will contain a unique code that individuals will need to enter when they visit a specially designed website to submit a short essay online about why they should be chosen as one of three contest winners. Wish ornaments are only available in C Spire retail stores.

No purchase is necessary, but individuals must be 18 years old (19 in Alabama) to participate in the contest. C Spire also will donate $10 to Make-A-Wish for each qualified entry.

Entries, which are limited to one per person, will be judged on originality and creativity, focus on the creative assignment and overall appeal. A panel of qualified judges from C Spire and its advertising agency will select up to three winners by Dec. 30, 2016.

“As a company that gets its inspiration from our customers, we anticipate receiving many compelling and inspiring stories from people who hope to make their wishes come true. No dream is too small. No wish is too big,” said Jim Richmond, vice president of Corporate Communications for C Spire.

Since 1980, Make-A-Wish gives hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions by granting them their one true wish. Local chapters in Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama grant hundreds of wishes each year.

“A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a life-threatening illness or medical condition as well as other family members,” said Brent Wilson, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Mississippi. “We’re excited to partner with C Spire in helping make the power of a fulfilled wish experience a reality for more children.”
